Cerdanyola launches initiative to preserve Aiscondel factory history
The Cerdanyola City Council has issued a call to citizens to collect photographs, documents, and objects related to the former Aiscondel factory. The initiative aims to preserve the economic, social, and urban history of the industry, which was a major influence on the city's growth.
Founded in 1941, the factory once employed up to 1,200 people and provided various services to workers, including housing, a nursery, and medical assistance. It also served as a significant site for labor and union struggles during the 1960s and 1970s.
Materials can be submitted to the Municipal Archive or digitally until December 31, 2026. The collected items will be used to prepare for the first Aiscondel Conference, scheduled for February 13, 2027.
