Cerebras Systems projects rapid revenue growth amid IPO lockup period

Cerebras Systems is experiencing significant growth in its AI computing business. The company recently raised its full-year core revenue target to a range of $855 million to $865 million. Projections suggest core revenue could exceed $1.8 billion by 2027, representing more than a doubling of current targets. This growth is supported by a substantial backlog, with $25.4 billion in remaining performance obligations from signed customer contracts.

Financial indicators show a strong upward trend, with second-quarter core revenue rising 103% year-over-year to approximately $210 million. Additionally, core cloud and services revenue grew 287% year-over-year. The company is also seeing improvements in its core operating margin, which moved from negative 42% to negative 16% over the past year.

As the company navigates its post-IPO period, investors are monitoring the upcoming lockup expiration. An estimated 171.1 million shares could become eligible for sale, which is nearly five times the original IPO float of 34.5 million shares. The release of these shares is expected to occur in stages, concluding at either the second trading day after the release of the September 30, 2026, quarterly results or 180 days after the final IPO prospectus.
