Cerignola, Stornara and Stornarella unveil urban regeneration strategy
On Tuesday, 14 July 2024, the municipality of Cerignola, together with the neighboring towns of Stornara and Stornarella, will present the Urban Territorial Strategy at Palazzo Fornari (17:30). The plan results from a months‑long participatory process that gathered input from citizens, associations, businesses, the third sector and other local stakeholders. Mayors Francesco Bonito (Cerignola), Roberto Nigro (Stornara) and Massimo Colia (Stornarella) will open the event, followed by officials from the municipal administration and technical experts from engineering firm Finepro Srl. The strategy is a component of the Puglia regional PR programme (Priority IX – Territorial and Urban Development) and is funded by the EU FESR‑FSE+ 2021‑2027 programme, aiming to counter urban decay, under‑used public spaces, safety concerns and to improve residents’ quality of life.
At the same time, Vitali società benefit – an Italian construction and infrastructure group founded in 1989 – emphasises that urban regeneration must go beyond physical transformation. CEO Alessio Parolari says the company’s projects, such as Porta Sud and the Hennebique redevelopment in Genoa, are designed to foster community connections, enhance livability and meet environmental targets. Vitali highlights its recent conversion to a benefit corporation, its renewable‑energy‑powered campuses, and a range of sustainable production facilities across Italy, positioning itself as a single point of contact for public and private clients seeking integrated regeneration solutions.
