Cerrado Mineiro Arabica coffee harvest reaches 74%

Arabica coffee harvesting in the Cerrado Mineiro region has reached 74% within the area covered by the Expocacer cooperative. The progress was driven by a week of dry and stable weather, which facilitated both harvesting and post-harvest activities.

Of the total amount harvested, 56% has already undergone processing. The average yield is approximately 500 liters of coffee in cherry per 60 kg processed bag. While the current pace shows a slight delay compared to the previous season—where 80% had been harvested by this same date—the previous season yielded lower overall volumes than the current one.

Technical reports indicate that most harvested lots are in a dry stage, increasing the efficiency of drying operations. However, the percentage of sorting required has risen above 15%, a factor that requires careful attention during processing to protect final yield and quality. Meteorological forecasts suggest dry conditions will persist in the region until August 12, with temperatures ranging between 13°C and 31°C.
