Cerreto Laghi to host 12th World Mushroom Championship

The 12th edition of the World Mushroom Championship (Mondiale del Fungo) is scheduled to take place on October 3 and 4 in Cerreto Laghi, a tourist station located between Emilia and Tuscany. The event has already surpassed 200 registrants, with numerous teams organizing for the competition.

Initiated by blogger Frà Ranaldo, the Briganti di Cerreto, and the Parco Nazionale dell'Appennino Tosco Emiliano, the event is held in collaboration with the municipality of Ventasso and the association ‘A Passeggio nel Bosco’. The championship focuses on the porcini mushroom and aims to promote sustainable tourism and environmentally respectful foraging methods.

Registration deadlines for discounted rates are approaching. Participants can register online via Geoticket, with a reduced fee of 30 euros available for those who sign up by the deadline, increasing to 35 euros thereafter. Teams consist of five members, and participation in the Sunday competition requires attendance on Saturday evening as well.
