The twelfth edition of the Mushroom World Championship is scheduled to take place on October 3 and 4, 2026, in Cerreto, located within the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park. The competition focuses on the porcini mushroom and has already attracted over 200 registered participants.

The event, organized by local community cooperatives and regional authorities, aims to promote respectful and conscious interaction with the forest environment. In addition to the foraging competition, the program includes a mandatory educational session on October 3 to foster knowledge regarding the study, photography, and sustainable harvesting of mushrooms.
