Cerro Porteño wins eleventh Liga Premium Futsal title
Cerro Porteño has secured its eleventh title in the Liga Premium Futsal, continuing a period of dominance in Paraguayan futsal. The championship was decided at the newly inaugurated ueno Arena ‘Juan José Zapag’, which hosted over 4,000 fans for the event.
In the second leg of the final, Exa Ysaty defeated Cerro Porteño 3-2. However, Cerro Porteño maintained its championship status due to a decisive 7-3 victory in the first leg. Constantino Vaporaki scored for Cerro Porteño in the second leg, while Alex López, Jorge Valdez, and an own goal by Jorge Espinoza accounted for Exa Ysaty’s goals.
This victory marks an extraordinary streak for the ‘Ciclón’ side, which has won consecutive titles since 2015, with the exception of 2020 when the tournament was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Josué Valiente of Recoleta FC was named the top scorer with 28 goals, while Cerro Porteño earned the award for the team with the fewest goals conceded.
