Cersaie trade fair sees growth in international attendance in Bologna

The 43rd edition of the Cersaie ceramic trade fair in Bologna has concluded, reporting strong attendance despite a challenging international geopolitical climate. Armando Cafiero, Director General of Confindustria Ceramica, noted that foreign attendance was particularly robust, accounting for over 50% of the total visitors, which represents a percentage increase compared to the previous edition.

Approximately 95,000 to 100,000 people attended the five-day event at BolognaFiere, which hosted over 600 exhibitors. The fair serves as a critical platform for the sector, which exports more than 80% of its products to international markets.

Discussions during the event highlighted industry concerns regarding high energy costs and European Union Emissions Trading System (ETS) policies. Industry leaders emphasized the need for structural responses to energy prices to ensure high-quality manufacturing remains within the region and continues to provide employment.
