Cersanit S.A. to lay off 487 employees across five Polish plants

Cersanit S.A., a major European manufacturer of bathroom equipment and ceramics, has announced plans for group layoffs affecting 487 employees. The reductions will impact production facilities in Krasnymstaw, Starachowice, Opoczno, Radom, and Wałbrzych.

The company stated that the decision is driven by several economic factors, including a significant rise in energy and raw material costs. Additionally, Cersanit cited market disruptions in Ukraine, lower than expected demand, and a decline in both orders and sales.

The layoff process is expected to be carried out in stages and is projected to conclude by the end of 2026. Cersanit currently employs approximately 5,500 people, meaning these cuts will affect nearly one-tenth of its total workforce.
