Cervejas de Moçambique reports 51.7% profit increase in 2025

Cervejas de Moçambique (CDM) recorded a 51.7% increase in profits for 2025, reaching approximately 2.6 billion meticais, up from 1.7 billion meticais in the previous financial year. The company’s turnover grew by 16.9% to 26.7 billion meticais, while gross profit rose to 10.8 billion meticais.

Driven by higher sales volumes and improved operating results, the brewer announced a significant increase in shareholder remuneration. Total dividend distributions reached 1.3 billion meticais, more than double the 520 million meticais paid in the prior year, with a dividend per share of 8.15 meticais. The company also reported a strengthened liquidity position, with cash and cash equivalents rising to 17.3 billion meticais by December 2025.

Despite the growth, CDM identified operational risks, specifically regarding foreign currency shortages in the Mozambican market. The company warned that limited access to foreign exchange could hinder the timely importation of raw materials and packaging. Additionally, CDM noted exposure to exchange rate fluctuations against the US dollar, euro, and South African rand due to its reliance on international suppliers.

CDM is a subsidiary of the Belgian group AB InBev, which holds an 83.01% stake. Other shareholders include the Mozambican state (1.37%) and the National Social Security Institute (2.6%).
