Cervera hospitality businesses protest festival closing hour limits

Hospitality businesses in the historic center of Cervera are expressing dissatisfaction regarding operating hour restrictions imposed during the Aquelarre festival. Under current municipal measures, establishments must close at 02:30 on Wednesday and Thursday, and at 03:30 on Friday, with Saturday being the only night allowing operations until 06:00.

Local business owners, including those from La Plaça, La Canalet, and La Cova, have criticized the policy as unfair, noting that bars managed by local entities are permitted to remain open until 06:00 every day. Owners claim these limitations could result in losing half of their expected revenue during one of the town's busiest periods. Mayor Jan Pomés stated that efforts are underway to request extensions from the Generalitat to allow for later closing times on Thursday and Friday.
