Cerveteri mayoral candidate Gianluca Paolacci and Civita Castellana council launch streaming service
Gianluca Paolacci, a 56‑year‑old councilor in Cerveteri, Italy, announced his intention to run for mayor next year. He said the city needs courage and a revival of community pride, highlighted the success of the local Sagra del Melone festival, and criticised the decline of agriculture and construction in the area. Paolacci also questioned a recent municipal purchase of 9,000 sqm of land for €40,000, calling the price “aberrant.”
In the nearby town of Civita Castellana, council president Simone Brunelli declared that the municipal council will now be streamed live. The move fulfills a promise made by mayor Danilo Corazza during the election campaign and implements a 2023 regulation. Brunelli said the service will let every citizen “follow the work of the assembly, know the decisions taken and participate, even at a distance, in the democratic life of our city.”
