Cerveteri public transport disruptions spark political criticism
The Fratelli d'Italia (FDI) political group has raised alarms regarding significant disruptions to public local transport (TPL) in Cerveteri. According to a press release, numerous bus services have been cancelled without notice across various municipal areas, including Cerenova, Valcanneto, and Borgo San Martino.
These service failures are reportedly causing major difficulties for students and their families, particularly on the line 23 route between Cerveteri and Valcanneto. The group highlighted instances where students were left waiting for buses that never arrived, complicating daily commutes and work schedules for parents.
FDI has questioned whether the issues stem from a shortage of drivers, aging vehicles, or maintenance problems. They have called upon the Mayor and local officials to urgently intervene with the current operator, Seatour, to ensure reliable service until the management transitions to Astral, which is scheduled for January 2027.
