Cerveteri technicians inspect Monumental Oak for conservation

Technical teams from Multiservizi Caerite conducted a new inspection of the Monumental Oak in Largo Almunecar, located in the Madonna dei Canneti area of Cerveteri. The centuries-old downy oak is considered a vital part of the city’s green heritage.

The inspection included high-altitude checks using an elevating platform and tomographic investigations to assess the internal state of the wood. These scans specifically targeted sensitive areas and previous anchoring reinforcements installed in 2020.

Linda Ferretti, General Manager of Multiservizi Caerite, stated that managing urban greenery requires specialized knowledge and monitoring tailored to each specimen. The assessments consider physiological, morphological, and biomechanical aspects alongside environmental factors and human impact. The recent checks confirmed the tree is in good condition and allowed technicians to evaluate potential additional safety measures to ensure its long-term preservation.
