Cervia allocates €650,000 for new via Galeno bridge

The municipal administration of Cervia has earmarked €650,000 to fund a new bridge on via Galeno, replacing the structure that was closed in April 2026 because of severe corrosion and classified as “high” risk. The feasibility study and technical‑economic design will be prepared by Studio CFT of Forlì, with the aim of restoring the connection by the summer of 2027, subject to the required authorisations from heritage, environmental and infrastructure authorities.

Temporary measures such as a Bailey bridge have been deemed impractical due to cost, permitting complexity and the need for additional works. The council is also evaluating an alternate route along the lagoon‑side path that links to State Road 16, pending approval from ANAS. The project is being prioritised to minimise disruption for residents and emergency services.
