Cervia and Cesenatico highlight historical heritage and inclusive tourism

The coastal towns of Cervia and Cesenatico in the Emilia-Romagna region offer diverse cultural and historical experiences. Cervia is characterized by its salt-making heritage, featuring the historic Quadrilatero area and the Pietra delle Misure, a rock matrix once used by merchants to verify local measurement units.

In Cesenatico, the maritime history is preserved through the Porto Canale and the Museum of Maritime Life, which showcases traditional boats with large, colorful sails.

Advancements in inclusive tourism have also been noted in Villamarina at the Bagno Bologna beach establishment. To assist visually impaired tourists, the facility has implemented an “audiofaro” (audio lighthouse)—an acoustic system that broadcasts music from the shore to help swimmers navigate back to the beach and their umbrellas autonomously.
