Cervia hosts Ironman Emilia-Romagna triathlon event

The Ironman Emilia-Romagna triathlon event has commenced in Cervia, drawing thousands of athletes and spectators to the Adriatic coast. The competition includes the long-distance Ironman, Ironman 70.3, and 5150 Cervia races.

Approximately 6,500 athletes are expected to participate in the weekend of endurance sports, with over 70% of participants traveling from abroad. The long-distance challenge consists of a 3.8-kilometer swim in the Adriatic Sea, a 180-kilometer cycling leg, and a 42.2-kilometer marathon.

The course traverses several territories, including Cervia, Ravenna, Cesena, Forlì, Forlimpopoli, and Bertinoro. Local authorities have highlighted the event as a significant opportunity for regional tourism and international promotion.
