Cíes Islands Reach Full Visitor Capacity, Guided Tours Remain Limited

The Cíes Islands, a national park off Galicia’s coast, have fully booked the daily quota of 1,800 visitors for the week of 6‑12 July, one of the peak periods of the summer season. All regular visitor slots for several ten‑day periods in August are also sold out, making it impossible to obtain authorization for those dates.

A small number of guided‑tour places remain, capped at 200 people per day and offered by operators such as Mar de Ons. These spots are also nearly exhausted and must be booked directly with the ferry company, as the Xunta de Galicia’s website does not currently process the required permits. The islands, praised for the beach of Rodas and their wildlife, continue to attract high demand despite the strict access limits.
