Cesano Maderno and Seveso inaugurate new 21-million-euro bypass

The new north bypass of Cesano Maderno has been inaugurated, providing a vital road link between Cesano Maderno and Seveso. The 483-meter infrastructure, funded entirely by Regione Lombardia with an investment exceeding 21 million euros, includes a vehicular underpass to cross the Milano-Seveso-Asso railway line and a dedicated 12-meter pedestrian and cycle path. This project effectively replaces the former Via Como level crossing, which was permanently closed in May, aiming to improve local traffic flow, reduce environmental pollution, and enhance the reliability of the railway service.

Other regional infrastructure updates include maintenance works on local roads in Santarcangelo, a 2-million-euro restoration project for the Calanco weir on the Rabbi stream in San Lorenzo in Noceto, and the inauguration of a new cycling path connecting Besozzo and Gemonio. Additionally, night closures are scheduled for the Limina tunnel to facilitate safety upgrades and escape route improvements.
