Cesara Buonamici reveals decision to decline hosting Grande Fratello

Journalist Cesara Buonamici has revealed behind-the-scenes details regarding the first season of the reality show Grande Fratello, which aired in 2000. Buonamici disclosed that she was offered the opportunity to host the historic inaugural edition of the program.

However, her director at the time, Enrico Mentana, advised her against the move. Mentana reportedly told her that if she chose to host the reality show, she would not be able to return to TG5. Buonamici stated that she did not regret her decision to remain in journalism.

During her reflections, Buonamici also paid tribute to Pietro Taricone, a prominent figure from the first season who passed away at age 35 following a paragliding accident in 2010. She described him as a complex individual with a special expressive strength. Marina La Rosa also shared memories of Taricone, characterizing their relationship as a great friendship.
