Cesare Baroni legacy remembered in Mantua
Cesare Baroni, a former Christian Democracy deputy and mayor of Viadana, is being remembered for his significant political and infrastructural contributions to the Mantua province.
Baroni was noted for his eloquence and a distinctive rhetorical habit of using the word “tuttavia” (however) to introduce alternative perspectives during provincial council sessions. Beyond his parliamentary career from 1958 to 1972, he played a crucial role in regional development by promoting legislation that replaced traditional barge bridges with reinforced concrete bridges across the Po River.
In addition to his political work, Baroni was an international law professor in Parma. He passed away on July 11, 2003, leaving a legacy reflected in both the region's physical infrastructure and its political history.
