Cesare Cremonini presents new album Amateur in London

Italian singer-songwriter Cesare Cremonini has officially launched the era of his tenth studio album, “Amateur,” with a showcase at London’s historic O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. The album, scheduled for release on October 23 via EMI/Universal Music, was recorded between Bologna and Damon Albarn’s Studio 13 in London.

Cremonini described the project as a musical rebirth, comparing the feeling to being a debut artist after 27 years in the industry. He noted that the album intentionally avoids modern music algorithms, focusing instead on diverse styles including rock, blues, and jazz. The title “Amateur” reflects his desire to create music out of passion rather than predefined commercial strategies.

The London performance featured several collaborators who also appear on the album, including Salmo, Fabri Fibra, and Malika Ayane. The project also highlights Cremonini’s recent dedication to studying the saxophone, an instrument that features prominently in six tracks. Following the London presentation, Cremonini is set to embark on an “Amatour” tour starting November 24, covering 16 venues across Italy.
