Cesena FC appoints Sandro Mencucci as Executive Director

Cesena FC has officially appointed Sandro Mencucci as Executive Director, with a contract running until June 30, 2027. The announcement follows the mutual termination of the relationship with General Director Corrado Di Taranto, which was communicated on November 5.

Mencucci, a chartered accountant from Florence, brings extensive experience in Italian and international football. His previous roles include serving as CEO of ACF Fiorentina from 2002 to 2019, where he oversaw the club’s rise from Serie C2 to Serie A and multiple European competitions. He also held a position at Leeds United and most recently served as CEO of US Lecce from 2022 to 2026, during which the club achieved promotion to Serie A.

Cesena President Michael J. DeLuca Melby welcomed Mencucci, stating his experience will be valuable for the club’s strengthening and growth. While Mencucci expressed pride in joining the club, the official communication did not specify his exact operational responsibilities or clarify how his functions will be distributed within the corporate structure.
