Cesena GM Corrado Di Taranto nears move to Padova CEO role

Corrado Di Taranto, the General Manager of Cesena, is reportedly close to leaving the club to accept a position as CEO at Padova. The offer comes from Padova's new ownership, Acciaierie Venete, which aims to invest heavily in the club's infrastructure and pursuit of Serie A.

Di Taranto, who recently renewed his contract with Cesena until 2028, is considering the move due to the prestige of the role and the opportunity to return to his home region near Vicenza. The potential departure presents an immediate challenge for Cesena's newly appointed president, Mike Melby.

If Di Taranto departs, Sandro Mencucci, formerly of Lecce, has emerged as a leading candidate to succeed him. Cesena management is currently evaluating whether to appoint an Italian professional or look toward international profiles.
