Italian equestrian and local festivals highlight summer sports season

The Italian equestrian season features several major events, highlighted by the 81st edition of the Coppa del Mare at the Ippodromo Caprilli in Livorno. This prestigious race has been promoted to a Super Handicap with a total prize pool of 44,000 Euro and serves as a national TTQ. Local officials, including Mayor Luca Salvetti, noted that the racing season has already seen attendance exceed 10,000 people.

Other notable racing activities include the Trofeo Brosway 2026 at the San Paolo racetrack in Montegiorgio, which features the Italian Drivers' Championship final and Group 3 races such as the Premio Marche Elio Mattii. Additionally, the Savio Hippodrome in Cesena is hosting a series of seven races, while international competitions are underway in locations like Newbury and Doncaster.

In Scarlino, the traditional ‘Le Carriere del 19’ historical reenactment is scheduled for August 18 and 19, involving parades and competitions between local districts. Meanwhile, in Imperia, local residents have raised concerns regarding the disparity in public transport services and the maintenance of the Marina area.
