Cesena hosts inaugural StraWoman charity run

More than 600 participants took part in the first edition of the StraWoman event in Cesena on Sunday, September 6. The non-competitive running and walking event, dedicated to women, featured an 8-kilometer loop through the city, including Montefiore and Ponte Abbadesse.

Olympic middle-distance runner Gaia Sabbatini served as the event's godmother, running alongside participants. The initiative included a collective warm-up and was officially introduced by Luca Panzavolta, CEO of CIA-Conad and president of the Istituto Oncologico Romagnolo (IOR).

The event served a charitable purpose, raising 1,200 euros for the IOR's Prime Center in Cesena. This facility focuses on prevention, rehabilitation, and integrated medicine for oncology patients. The funds specifically support projects such as providing home-based education for adolescents undergoing cancer treatment to ensure they remain on track with their school programs.
