Italy security and environmental operations during Ferragosto

During the Ferragosto holiday period, various Italian regions saw intensive law enforcement operations and environmental initiatives. In Senigallia, local police conducted road safety checks, resulting in the seizure of a vehicle after a driver was found with blood alcohol levels four times the legal limit, and investigating a collision between a car and a scooter that injured a woman.

Security operations were also widespread in other areas. In Siracusa, Carabinieri inspections led to numerous reports for driving under the influence, illegal weapon possession, and drug offenses. In Udine, authorities intercepted violent brawls and high-level intoxication, while in Riccione, arrests were made for theft and resistance to public officials. In Cirò Marina, joint patrols focused on urban security and road violations.

In addition to crime prevention, environmental and administrative actions took place. In Taranto, a major cleanup operation at Mar Piccolo successfully removed tons of waste, including metal, fishing nets, and hazardous packaging. Meanwhile, in Cesena, the local police began a specialized 12-month training program for their canine unit. In Campania, legal complaints were filed regarding deteriorating road infrastructure to prevent further traffic fatalities.
