Cesenatico celebrates cycling legends Luigi Ganna and Marco Pantani

An event held in Cesenatico celebrated the legacies of Italian cycling legends Luigi Ganna and Marco Pantani. Organized by the Marco Pantani Foundation, Te. Ma Spettacoli, and the Le Arti di Atena cultural association, the gathering aimed to bridge the history of Italian cycling across different eras.

The central theme of the event was the ‘Trofeo Senza Fine’, the prestigious trophy awarded by Gazzetta dello Sport to the winner of the Giro d’Italia. Family members of the two champions presented the trophies: Serena Boschetti, the niece of Marco Pantani, and Stefania Bardelli, a great-niece of Luigi Ganna.

Luigi Ganna made history as the winner of the inaugural Giro d’Italia in 1909, while Marco Pantani became a modern icon after winning both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France in 1998.
