Cesenatico launches initiatives to combat gender stereotypes

The Cesenatico Equal Opportunities Department and the Centro Donna have launched ‘Oltre gli stereotipi’ (Beyond Stereotypes), a project aimed at promoting gender equality and combating discrimination. The initiative, which is a candidate for an Emilia-Romagna regional grant, features a diverse program running from September to December that utilizes theater, comics, sports, and music to engage the community.

Educational initiatives include a program titled ‘Il soffitto di cristallo’ (The Glass Ceiling) organized by the Akkanto social cooperative, which works with high school students to address how gender stereotypes impact the perception of female competence. Additionally, the Barbablù Association will host creative comic book workshops for primary and middle school students to raise awareness about equal opportunities and violence prevention.

For the general public, the program includes ‘Donna In-difesa,’ a female self-defense course held at the Dream Fitness Club from November 6 to December 4.
