Cesiomaggiore church receives wooden baptismal font donation

The family of the late artist Malenko Sacchet has donated an inlaid wooden baptismal font to the archpriest church of Cesiomaggiore. The work, created by Sacchet before his death in January 2020, was blessed by Don Claudio Centa during a mass on June 20.

Don Centa noted that the new font, which features a perfect interlocking of wooden pieces and stones, allows for more practical celebrations of the sacrament compared to the church's existing 1483 stone font, which is too ancient to be moved near the ambo. The donation also included a copper ampulla for holy water, provided by local tinsmiths.

This is not the family's first contribution to the municipality; in June 2023, they donated “Agnese,” an inlaid wooden chest featuring marine elements and a siren, to be displayed in the municipal atrium.
