CESPT and residents launch water and sewage projects in Tijuana and Rosarito

The Tijuana State Public Services Commission (CESPT) is collaborating with residents in eight neighborhoods across Tijuana and Playas de Rosarito to implement water and sanitation infrastructure through a self-management scheme. Under this model, community members organize collectively to request services and contribute financially to construction costs, while CESPT provides technical evaluations, cost determinations, and project oversight.

In Tijuana, potable water projects are targeting the Ley del Servicio Civil, Unión Antorchista, Atenas, Polígono 6, El Encinal, Granjas Familiares Unidas, and Valle Imperial neighborhoods. In the Primo Tapia area of Playas de Rosarito, the focus is on sanitary sewage infrastructure.

Additionally, CESPT is working with the National Water Commission (CONAGUA) through the PROAGUA program. This initiative includes six additional projects—three for potable water and three for sewage—with a total investment of 47.7 million pesos. These works are expected to benefit approximately 5,827 people in the Maclovio Rojas, Viñedos, Ampliación Leyes de Reforma, Valle Dorado, Brisa Marina, and Villa de la Palma areas.
