CESPT implements automated queue system in Tijuana
The Tijuana State Public Services Commission (CESPT) has implemented a new automated system called ‘Turnomático’ at its central offices to streamline customer service and reduce wait times.
Under the new system, users receive a digital turn upon arrival and can wait seated until a screen indicates which service window is available. This replaces traditional standing lines and allows for a more organized flow of people, particularly during peak hours.
CESPT Director General Mónica Vega Aguirre stated that the tool helps the agency monitor waiting numbers and peak attendance times, allowing for better staff distribution based on demand. While the system aims to improve in-person service, officials noted that customers can also pay water bills via mobile applications and ATMs to avoid visiting the offices.
