CESPT invites vulnerable populations to apply for water subsidies

The Commissioner General of CESPT, Mónica Vega Aguirre, has invited vulnerable populations in Tijuana to apply for water service subsidies to alleviate economic, family, or health-related financial burdens. Currently, more than 5,800 users receive this benefit, including senior citizens, pensioners, retirees, and individuals with disabilities.

To qualify, applicants must be over 60 years old, or widows over 50 living in poverty. Retirees, pensioners, or persons with disabilities may also apply if their income does not exceed five times the Unidad de Medida y Actualización (UMA). The service account must be current with no outstanding debts, and the subsidy is limited to a single residential property that is not used for commercial purposes.

Required documentation includes an official photo ID and the service account number. Depending on the specific circumstances, applicants may also need to provide an INAPAM card, proof of income, pension credentials, a spouse's death certificate, or a medical certificate issued by a public institution. In certain instances, CESPT personnel will conduct socioeconomic studies to verify eligibility.
