CESPU transitions to university status in northern Portugal

The CESPU Institute of Health Sciences has officially transitioned to the status of Universidade CESPU. This change follows the implementation of the new Legal Regime for Higher Education Institutions (RJIES) in Portugal.

Based primarily in Gandra, Paredes, with delegations in Famalicão and Penafiel, the institution has operated for 44 years with a focus on health sciences and technologies. The university currently offers 14 degree-granting study cycles, including bachelor's degrees, integrated master's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral programs.

Academic offerings include Biomedical Sciences, Forensic Sciences, Nutrition, Psychology, Public Health, and Health Management and Administration. Integrated master's programs are available in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine. The institution reports a significant international presence, with students from 21 nationalities making up over 50% of its student population.
