Colombian authorities have confirmed the deaths of all five occupants of a Cessna T206 aircraft (registration HK-4985) that crashed in a mountainous, forested region between the departments of Chocó and Risaralda. The aircraft disappeared on Sunday, September 13, after losing radio contact at 9:23 local time while flying from Condoto, Chocó, to Guaymaral, Bogotá.

The victims have been identified as pilot and Turkish businessman Mehmet Cankaya, along with four Colombian women: Perla Costanza Álvarez, Sandy García, María Guzmán, and Yuliza Figueredo. The group had been in Condoto since the previous Thursday to participate in a medical brigade providing healthcare services to remote communities.

Search and rescue operations were significantly hindered by the difficult terrain, which includes steep slopes, dense vegetation, and high altitudes of approximately 2,700 meters. The Colombian Aerospace Force reported that helicopters were unable to land at the impact site, requiring rescuers to be inserted using a rescue crane. The wreckage was located in a rural area of Pueblo Rico, Risaralda, near the Tatamá National Natural Park.
