Turudić calls for war crime accountability as Cetinje marks Medovina massacre anniversary

In Knin, Ivan Turudić, president of the HDLSKL Splitsko-dalmatinska županija, marked the Day of Remembrance for prisoners of enemy camps by calling for the preservation of historical truth. Turudić emphasized that while Croatia has successfully prosecuted some war criminals, many perpetrators of crimes against Croatian defenders and civilians remain beyond the reach of justice. He criticized Serbia for not showing sufficient readiness to face responsibility for crimes committed during the aggression and urged for the opening of archives and the processing of those responsible to ensure lasting peace.

Separately, in Cetinje, Montenegro, the fourth anniversary of the Medovina massacre was observed. On August 12, 2022, Vuk Borilović killed ten people, including two children, in the Medovina neighborhood. The victims included Nataša Pejović Martinović and her sons, Mašan and Marko. The tragedy left deep scars on the community, with families still demanding justice and accountability from state institutions for perceived failures in preventing the massacre and providing answers.
