Cetinje to host inaugural Montenegro Edu Pharma Summit

Cetinje will host the inaugural Montenegro Edu Pharma Summit (MEPS) from September 11 to 13. The event, themed ‘Pharmacy Inspired by Nature’, aims to bridge modern pharmaceutical science with the potential of medicinal plants and the history of the profession.

Organizers, including pharmacist Ana Ivanović, emphasize that the summit seeks to provide scientific verification for natural products. The event aims to address the misconception that ‘natural’ automatically equates to ‘safe’, advocating for research and scientific methods in phytotherapy.

Key speakers include Pavle Zelić from the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of Serbia, who will discuss the relationship between natural remedies and conventional medicine. Other regional experts, such as Dragica Bojović, Jelena Manojlović, and Naida Omerović Ćorović, will also participate in discussions regarding herbal medicine and the development of the pharmaceutical field.
