Cetraro administration and Democratic Party clash over local governance

A political conflict has intensified in Cetraro between the local administration and the Democratic Party (PD). The PD issued a statement criticizing the summer season as a failure marked by administrative inefficiency, declining tourism, water shortages, and poor waste management. They specifically cited issues with public works, such as the road connecting the Marina to the town center, and criticized the quality of organized events.

Mayor Giuseppe Aieta responded via video, rejecting the PD’s claims and accusing the party of attempting to spread sadness rather than offering solutions. He defended the summer events and criticized the PD for its absence from the City Council.

Additionally, the political group Cetraro in Azione intervened, defending the Mayor and accusing the PD of ignoring reality. They argued that many of the current infrastructure and maintenance issues are the result of years of administrative stagnation caused by the PD during its previous periods in government.
