Cetraro and Cesenatico launch new urban surveillance projects
Italian municipalities Cetraro and Cesenatico are implementing new urban surveillance projects to combat crime and vandalism.
In Cetraro, the municipal council has approved the 'Cetraro città sicura' plan. The project involves a 214,000 euro investment to install advanced cameras and automatic license plate recognition systems. The initiative aims to cover the South Zone, North Zone, and the Port area. The municipality plans to fund 5,000 euros directly and seek the remaining 209,000 euros from the Ministry of the Interior.
Cesenatico has also submitted a candidacy to the Ministry of the Interior and Finance for a surveillance system valued at 156,382.16 euros. This project includes license plate recognition at town entrances and exits, alongside new cameras in parking lots and the historic center to deter crime and maintain public decorum, particularly during high-traffic summer months.
