Ceuta businesses and self-employed eligible for aid following migratory crisis

The Spanish government has launched a support plan for businesses and self-employed workers in Ceuta to mitigate the economic impact of the ongoing migratory crisis. A total of 309 million euros has been mobilized, including 36.6 million euros specifically allocated for direct aid managed by the Tax Agency (Agencia Tributaria).

Self-employed workers are eligible for a fixed grant of 5,000 euros. Companies can receive variable amounts ranging from 10,000 to 150,000 euros, depending on their turnover. To qualify, applicants must have a tax domicile or place of business in Ceuta and declare that their economic activity has been negatively affected by the migration crisis.

Applications can be submitted via the Tax Agency’s electronic office starting September 14, with a deadline of November 30. The broader relief package also includes 50 million euros in ICO guarantees, measures such as ERTE (temporary layoff) exemptions, and increased bonuses for permanent hiring, which will also apply to Melilla.
