Ceuta legal complaint seeks testimony over intelligence warnings
The group Hazte Oír has expanded a legal complaint in Ceuta, requesting that the Court of First Instance summon Gonzalo Sanz, the former Chief of Staff for Government Delegate Miguel Ángel Pérez Triano, to testify. The investigation concerns the management of a mass irregular migration event involving thousands of people from Morocco that occurred on July 30 and 31, 2026.
The legal action seeks to clarify what information was communicated to the Delegation following intelligence warnings from the CNI. Declassified documents indicate that on July 29, intelligence services sent a message warning of a planned assault by land and sea during the Throne Festival. Hazte Oír aims to determine what actions were taken after an eleven-minute phone call between a CNI agent and the Cabinet.
Additionally, the prosecution has requested the testimony of Melchor León, a socialist deputy in the Ceuta Assembly, regarding public statements that the Delegate was aware of the impending situation. The expanded complaint also seeks documentation on protection measures and includes new allegations regarding attacks on military and civil guard personnel.
