Ceuta: Moroccan man arrested for alleged assault on partner

A Moroccan man in his thirties was arrested in Ceuta on Sunday following an alleged assault on his partner. The incident occurred near the city's desalination plant after an altercation between the couple.

According to reports, the two individuals had entered Ceuta irregularly in late July and were residing in the city without legal administrative status. The dispute reportedly centered on the woman's family connections and the assistance they provided her since her arrival.

A local resident witnessed the scene and alerted nearby military personnel, who then requested police intervention. The suspect was taken into custody, and the victim was transported to a medical facility for examination. While her injuries were reported as light, the woman informed authorities that she had been subjected to prior abuse by the man before arriving in Ceuta. An investigation is ongoing.
