Ceuta faces security concerns ahead of school reopening

Concerns are growing in Ceuta regarding the safety and stability of the upcoming school year, scheduled to begin on September 8. Families and educators have expressed significant anxiety over local security conditions and their potential impact on students' daily commutes and school environments.

The CSIF union has called upon the City Government and the Government Delegation to ensure that the start of the academic year proceeds with the same normality seen in the rest of the country. The union emphasized the necessity of a safe environment for both students and staff, urging all administrative bodies to coordinate efforts to prevent any infringement on the right to education.

Reports indicate that some local schools, specifically in the El Príncipe neighborhood, have been temporarily used to provide shelter, leading to concerns regarding hygiene and the maintenance of educational facilities. Parents have voiced fears that ongoing local tensions may hinder the ability to send children to school safely.
