The Provincial Directorate of Education in Ceuta announced that more than 1,200 seats remain vacant for the 2026‑2027 school year across early childhood, primary, secondary and bachillerato levels. The extraordinary enrollment phase has opened, allowing families to apply for any of the listed positions, which include 244 spots for three‑year‑old children, 81 for four‑year‑olds, and hundreds of primary and secondary vacancies at schools such as CEIP Maestro José Acostay and IES Siete Colinases.

In parallel, the Spanish government approved Royal Decree 556/2026, setting the ordinary capacity for unaccompanied foreign minor migrants in Ceuta at 29 places. The decree establishes a nationwide formula for allocating slots among autonomous communities and cities, with a contingency threshold of 87 minors for Ceuta. The new capacity becomes effective on 4 July and will be used to trigger redistribution mechanisms when a territory exceeds three times its ordinary capacity.
