Ceyair Wright leaves Cincinnati Bengals to pursue acting role

The Cincinnati Bengals have placed rookie cornerback Ceyair Wright on the Exempt/Left Squad list to allow him to pursue a lead role in a major film production. The move comes shortly after Wright appeared in the team’s preseason game against the Detroit Lions.

Wright, who previously appeared in ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ as LeBron James’ son, has a background in acting that predates his football career. His credits include roles in ‘Training Day’, ‘2 Broke Girls’, and ‘Grown-ish’. NFL insiders indicate that Wright is not retiring from football and intends to return once filming concludes, which is expected in late October.

To address the roster change, the Bengals have replaced Wright with undrafted rookie cornerback Matthew McDoom. Wright played his college football at USC and Nebraska before signing with Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent.
