Cezinha de Madureira contract for stake in André Mendonça's institute found by police

Federal Deputy Cezinha de Madureira (PL-SP) signed a future purchase option contract for a 4% stake in Iter, a legal institute founded by Supreme Federal Court (STF) Minister André Mendonça. The document was discovered by the Federal Police during search and seizure operations against Madureira and lawyer Valéria Linhares, which were authorized by Minister Flávio Dino.

The investigation is examining suspicions of influence peddling involving ministers of superior courts, including the STF, STJ, and TSE. According to Mendonça’s office, the contract does not make Madureira a current partner; the purchase would only be finalized if the deputy left politics, potentially in 2027. Madureira reportedly deposited R$ 19,353 as a security deposit for 1% of the stake, with the remaining 3% to be acquired from other partners.

The operation follows a previous incident where R$ 510,000 in cash was seized from Valéria Linhares at Congonhas Airport. Additionally, the investigation touches upon a meeting mediated by Madureira between former banker Daniel Vorcaro and Minister Mendonça, as well as judicial decisions involving interests related to Banco Master.
