CF Carbons GmbH enters preliminary insolvency proceedings

CF Carbons GmbH, a specialty chemical company based in Frankfurt am Main, has entered preliminary insolvency proceedings. The District Court of Frankfurt ordered the appointment of a preliminary insolvency administrator, Dr. Martin Obermüller, on September 7, 2026.

The company, which operates a production facility in the Industriepark Höchst, specializes in the manufacture and distribution of fluorinated substances, including chlorodifluoromethane (R22). Under the court order, the company's management, led by Herbert Zweck and Klaus Kuhlage, can no longer dispose of assets without the administrator's consent. The court is currently evaluating whether the requirements for opening formal insolvency proceedings are met.
