CF Montreal bans fans and sanctions supporter section over antisemitism

CF Montreal has issued bans and sanctions following a Major League Soccer investigation into antisemitic language directed at New England Revolution forward Dor Turgeman during an August 1 match at Stade Saputo.

The club banned two individuals for throwing objects and violating the MLS Fan Code of Conduct. Additionally, the club has indefinitely suspended the privileges of the specific supporter section identified in the investigation and suspended all official supporter group privileges for a match against D.C. United.

In a statement, CF Montreal emphasized that “antisemitism, racism, and hate of any kind have no place” at the club or its stadium. The organization stated it is working with local Jewish community organizations to strengthen anti-discrimination initiatives, including expanded in-stadium education and enhanced security measures. The club also issued an apology to the New England Revolution.
