CF Montreal and D.C. United play to 1-1 draw in MLS match

CF Montreal and D.C. United played to a 1-1 draw in a Major League Soccer match at Saputo Stadium. Prince Owusu opened the scoring for Montreal in the 50th minute via a penalty kick following a VAR review for a handball.

D.C. United equalized in the 67th minute when Tai Baribo scored with a header from a cross. Despite Montreal controlling much of the possession and creating several late opportunities, including a shot that hit the post in stoppage time, neither side could secure a victory.

The match also featured the home debut of Montreal’s new designated player, Alexis Sanchez, who was introduced to the fans during halftime. Montreal remains in a difficult position in the Eastern Conference, currently winless in eight consecutive games.
