CF Montreal and NYCFC draw 1-1 in MLS stoppage time thriller

CF Montreal secured a 1-1 draw against New York City FC (NYCFC) at Citi Field following a stoppage-time goal by Daniel Ríos. NYCFC held a 1-0 lead for most of the match after Andrés Perea scored in the 41st minute, assisted by Nicolás Fernández Mercau.

The equalizer came two minutes into second-half stoppage time from Ríos, who entered the match as a substitute. The result leaves NYCFC on the brink of missing the MLS playoffs, a possibility that would be confirmed if the New York Red Bulls defeat Nashville SC.

Montreal goalkeeper Samsy Keita, 17, recorded two saves in his fourth career start. For NYCFC, Matt Freese recorded one save. The match concludes a difficult October for both clubs, with Montreal failing to secure a win and NYCFC winning only once in six matches.
